Terms of Use

Last updated

These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of NukeSimulation.com for the website and the Pro pass. Polar sells Pro as merchant of record; Polar’s checkout terms cover payment. Ours cover the product.

By using the site you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use it.

What this is

NukeSimulation.com is an educational visualization. It shows, in simplified form, how a nuclear detonation might look and how far blast, heat, and related effects might reach. It is meant to help you understand those effects. It is not a weapon, targeting aid, civil-defense planner, or official damage assessment.

Blast radii, thermal effects, casualty figures, and 3D imagery are illustrations. Real outcomes depend on weather, terrain, shielding, weapon design, and many other factors this tool does not model. Death and injury numbers count residents on an approximately 1 km WorldPop 2020 population grid. They ignore time of day, commuting, shelter, and evacuation. Do not use anything on this site to plan, target, threaten, prepare a response, or make a decision that affects people or property.

Who may use it

You must be at least 16 to use the site, and at least 18 to buy Pro. You may not use the site if doing so would break the law where you are.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend Pro or block access if we reasonably believe these rules were broken, or if Polar refunds or disputes a payment.

Pro

The free site includes the map globe, named weapons, surface and optimum airburst, and casualty estimates. Pro currently adds photorealistic 3D tiles, custom burst height, and typed yields above 100 kt. We may change what Pro includes.

Pro is a paid pass. The price shown at checkout (today, USD $5 plus any tax Polar adds) buys about 30 days of Pro from the moment we grant it. Buying again while Pro is still active extends that end date; it does not stack a second simultaneous login. Pro is tied to the Polar customer and email used at checkout, not to a password on our site.

Who you pay. You buy Pro from Polar Software, Inc., which acts as merchant of record and authorized reseller. Polar’s Buyer Terms govern checkout, invoices, tax, and Polar’s role. We license you to use Pro on NukeSimulation.com under these terms. Card data is handled by Polar and its payment processor, not by us.

After a successful payment we set a session cookie and unlock Pro in this browser. On another device, use Already Pro? with the same email; we send a one-time code. Open Receipts for Polar’s customer portal (invoices and payment methods). Photorealistic tiles are licensed from Google and remain subject to Google’s Maps Platform terms. If Google or our quota is exhausted, the site may fall back to the ordinary map; that is not a failure of the Pro pass itself.

Refunds

Pro is digital access delivered as soon as payment clears. If Pro does not activate after a successful charge, email support@nukesimulation.com and we will restore access or work with Polar on a refund.

We do not otherwise refund unused days because access starts immediately. Polar may still refund under its own policy, including to limit chargebacks. If Polar issues a full refund, we revoke the corresponding Pro time. Statutory cooling-off rights for digital content (for example in the EEA or UK) are not waived by this paragraph; Polar’s checkout may ask you to consent to immediate supply, which can affect those rights where the law allows.

For billing Polar did not get right (double charge, wrong amount), contact Polar first at support@polar.sh or through the customer portal.

Intellectual property

The site, its code, branding, and original visualization are owned by the operator of NukeSimulation.com or its licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the site as provided. You do not get a licence to copy the service, reuse Google’s 3D tiles, or republish our UI as your own product.

Map search uses OpenStreetMap data via Komoot Photon. Photorealistic 3D tiles are provided by Google. Casualty counts use WorldPop 2020 population density data (DOI 10.5258/SOTON/WP00674), licensed CC BY 4.0. Those providers keep their own rights and terms.

No professional advice

Nothing on the site is military, scientific, legal, emergency, or civil-defense advice. Governments and scientific authorities are the source for real guidance. If you rely on the visualization anyway, you do so at your own risk.

Availability

We aim to keep the site up but do not promise uninterrupted access, accurate third-party maps, or that every city will have 3D coverage. Features, prices, and Pro limits may change. We will not take away remaining paid Pro time without a refund or a replacement of equal remaining duration, except where we suspend access for misuse or a Polar refund.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site and Pro are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that casualty numbers, radii, or imagery match any real event.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from the site or from anyone acting on what they saw here. Our total liability for a claim about the site or Pro is limited to the amount you paid us (through Polar) for Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $5 if you paid nothing.

These limits do not affect liability that cannot be limited — including death or personal injury caused by negligence where that cannot be excluded, fraud, or rights a consumer statute will not let us waive. If you are a consumer in the EEA, UK, or a similar regime, you keep the mandatory protections of your home country.

Indemnity

If you use the site in a way that breaks these terms (including real-world targeting, threats, or fraud) and that causes a claim against us, you will cover the reasonable costs of that claim to the extent the law allows.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version at this URL with a new date. If a change is material and you have Pro, we will also try to email the address on the Polar customer record. Continued use after the update is acceptance, except where the law requires a new consent. If you do not agree, stop using the site; unused Pro time is then handled under Refunds.

Contact and disputes

Email support@nukesimulation.com. Please write before you start a formal dispute so we can fix activation or billing problems. Polar remains the merchant for payment disputes.

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator of NukeSimulation.com is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that you keep any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Courts there have jurisdiction, unless a consumer-protection law requires the courts of your home country.

If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the agreement for the site. Polar’s buyer terms are the agreement for Polar’s checkout.
